Everything Counts, Don't Drop the Ball with Elke Reid
10am-12pm

This workshop focuses on reacting to any and everything that happens in the scene. Never dropping the ball on information given or emotional reactions that need a response. Everything said or done in the scene means something. The focus is to fine tune your listening skills and commit.

Hailing from New York City, Elke Reid is an actress, voiceover artist, writer, producer, director, and one heck of an improvisor. She proclaims herself an "Improv Junkie". Studying with both Upright Citizen's Brigade and The People's Improv Theater in NYC, she's performed and taught at improv festivals all over the world. Elke loves performing and helping people find their love for it as well.
Jumping Off the Backline with Laura Berger & Chris Rodriguez
2-4pm
Ever find yourself stuck on the backline, hesitating to jump into the action? Doubt, fear, and indecision can trap you on the backline. In this workshop, Chris and Laura will teach you powerful tools and techniques to break free and step boldly into the spotlight. Using an underused improv technique called 'ralphing,' we'll clear mental blocks and spark inspired character and physical choices, so you can own the stage with confidence. Stop overthinking. Trust your instincts. Jump!
Laura Berger is a local Twin Cities improviser and improv teacher. She’s often performing at HUGE Theater, Strike Theater, Bryant Lake Bowl, and with ComedySportz. She is also a co-director of Star Trek: The Next Improvisation, and directed her own original show Rumor Mill earlier this year. Since starting at HUGE in late 2016, Laura has performed in a multitude of improvised shows. Some of these shows include Foul Play, Manners & Misconduct, The Life Robotic, and Creature Feature. Laura is also a founding member of Babe Train, a local improv group that has created and produced several original, genre-bending shows like That 2000s Show, Babe Channel Original Movies, and B24.

Chris Rodriguez (He/Him) is a Twin Cities based improviser and digital artist. Chris began performing after moving to Minneapolis 8 years ago, and considers himself very lucky to have been consistently performing on stage for almost as long. He specializes in genre and long form narrative improv. When not improvising, Chris spends his days as a product designer and freelance digital artist and animator.
Queer Jam, 4:30-6pm
The Jam is a free opportunity to try improv with other supportive, cool, and queer improvisers. No experience is required. Anyone who identifies as queer is welcome. RSVP encouraged.

Sunday Workshops & Jam

 Finding Confidence & Joy in Musical Improv with Ruben Gomez 10am-12pm
In this workshop, we will focus on breaking away from the rules and structures commonly found in musical improv, and gain the tools to feel more confident and joyful singing on the spot. Open to all experience levels of improv and singing/musical abilities.

Ruben Gomez is a performer, director, teacher and overall enthusiast of improv. Starting his improv career in the Pacific North West, Ruben has traveled around the US and Canada with a focus on building connections and community with other likeminded artists. Ruben’s improv philosophy is deeply rooted in joy, inclusion, and advocacy. Ruben is a lifelong instrumental musician, and is super stoked at every opportunity to intersect the worlds of music and improv theater.
Lights! Camera! SASHAY! with Sarah McPeck, Miz Diagnosis, and Harrie Bradshaw
2pm - 4pm

Learn to unleash your fabulosity and cultivate strong character development and celebrate queer joy in this dynamic workshop lead by Sarah McPeck and Drag Queens, Miz Diagnosis and Harrie Bradshaw.

Sarah McPeck is a lesbian comedian in Minneapolis, MN. She endeavors to lift queer voices and celebrate the unique fabric of queer identities. Sarah lived the first half of her life in rural America and shares stories that connect audiences with all aspects of her life from being a late in life lesbian, mother, blackjack dealer and a child of hippies. Sarah is the producer of sketch, variety, game show, improv and stand-up comedy shows. Sarah began teaching at famed Dudley Rigg's Theater/ Brave New workshop and is current Director of The Royal Peacock Theater Company.
