Saturday ShowsSoap Prov + For You, Anything!
6pm - 7pm, Saturday, 11/7 Soap Prov is an improvised soap opera inspired by audience suggestions. The cast will create a show filled with your favorite soap opera tropes: steamy affairs, family betrayals, love triangles, seduction, and so much more!
For You, Anything! is a group of 7 improvisers (Liz Council Choate, Bhanu Shri, Chip Gehring, Karyn Wilson, Kezia Florence, Meghan Wolff, & Meredith Howell) hailing from the Twin Cities. These goofy and chaotic friends channel their energy into a La Ronde, a format exploring interconnected scenes between pairs of characters, that you'll never forget.
Where I Am Now + SYBIL
7:30pm - 8:30pm, Saturday, 11/7 Where I Am Now is solo silent improv.
Andy Eninger's SYBIL is a solo improvised sketch comedy show that pushes the boundaries of storytelling and imagination. What can one person do on stage? Anything and everything, it turns out. Andy is visiting from Los Angeles.
Twilight of the Old West + No Fear Shakesqueer
9pm - 10pm, Saturday, 11/7 Twilight of the Old West: The desert can be mighty scary at night, so cozy up to the fire and let us tell you a little improvised story of the old west!
No Fear Shakesqueer: An improvised romantic comedy from the canon of Billiam Shakesqueer, as performed by your local troupe
The Big Queer & Funny All-Star Mashup Show
10:30pm - 11:30pm, Saturday, 11/7 The Big Queer & Funny All-Star Mashup Show is where performers from any corner of the Festival jump onstage together to create something joyously, gloriously unrepeatable. Expect surprise pairings, big queer energy, and the kind of collaborative magic that only happens when you mix styles, identities, and comedic sensibilities into one glittery improv stew.
Sunday Shows |
Festival Ensemble + Pinque Pony + Rainbow Rats
6pm - 7pm, Sunday, 11/8
6pm - 7pm, Sunday, 11/8
The Queer & Funny Festival Ensemble is a ragtag group of talented queer improvisers who were selected to come together just for the Festival. They rehearse with an all-star director (this year: Denzel Belin) for just a few hours before debuting a brand new show for you.
Pinque Pony is real-life couple Andy Eninger and John Loos (and was around long before Chappell Roan!). They turn their real-life relationship dynamics into scenes and characters that push the limits of physical interaction and present queer as the given (not the punchline.) Pinque Pony is visting from Los Angeles.
Rainbow Rats is the LGBTQ+ house team at Stomping Ground Comedy Theater in Dallas, Texas. Follow the rats on a strange journey through every square foot of a location, finding the funny in spots like the supply closet at a laser tag establishment or putting on a wedding for a t-rex and a little green army guy inside of a doll's house. Rainbow Rats subvert expectations of the every day, opening up the imagination to see the special parts of the places we've been.
